Xiaomi India has launched its new Redmi note 12 series phones in India. Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note Pro 12 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G are the three phones included in the new series. The China-based company has claimed that the 200-megapixel camera included with the top-end model is the main highlight of the phone. The triple rear camera is working with a Samsung HPX sensor.

The new series is the updated version of its predecessor, the Note 11 series. The price range of the phone has been set in a way affordable to different classes of buyers. The Redmi Note 12 starts at Rs 17,999 for the base 4GB RAM version, while the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ starts at Rs 29,999 for the base 8GB RAM option. The Redmi Note 12 Pro starts at Rs 26,999. The upper-end model of the phone makes it the most expensive Redmi Note phone ever launched in India.

Xiaomi India president Muralikrishnan B said the increasing supply chain pressures, inflation, and other macro factors were also a factor in their new pricing for the Redmi Note 12 series.

Redmi Note 12 Pro/Pro+ devices are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1080 (6nm) (2×2.60GHz Cortex-A78 & 6×2.00GHz Cortex-A55) chipset. Both devices have a 6.67″ FHD+ (1080×2400) 120Hz OLED display. While Redmi Note 12 Pro has a 50MP+8MP+2MP camera setup, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ has a 200MP+8MP+2MP camera setup. Redmi Note 12 Pro is the first Redmi device with a 200MP camera. The phone will be available to purchase from January 11, 12 noon through Amazon, Mi.com and Mi Home and Mi retail partners.
