If you are a serious Oscar lover and missed some of the movies in the theatre, the OTT platforms available in India are offering the option to watch six of the feature films vying in the ‘Best Feature Film and International Feature Film’ category. We are listing out the movies available on the OTT platforms in India and on which platform you can watch them. You have to sign up on OTT platforms to watch eight out of the 15 movies nominated in Best Feature Film and Best International Feature Film categories.

Netflix is leading the list with three feature films competing for the prestigious prize in the Oscars. The OTT giant is screening Leonardo Decaprio starring ‘Don’t Look Up’ and the Western psychological drama ‘The Power of the Dog’ in the Best Feature Film category. The Jane Campion movie, The Power of the Dog, has won 12 nominations and one of the top runners along with CODA for the best feature film as per expert opinion. Whereas, the Americal apocalyptic black comedy, Don’t Look Up’ has won four nominations including the original screenplay.

‘The Hand of God’, the film by Italian academy award winner writer-director Paolo Sorrentino, is the third feature film streaming on Netflix vying for the academy awards. The film, which won the Grand Jury prize at the Venice International Film Festival last year, is selected in the International Feature Film category.

MUBI, which is known for its classic and award-winning films is another platform waiting to stream two Oscar-nominated films. MUBI will stream the Japanese drama-road film ‘Drive My Car’ from April 1. ‘Drive My Car’ has been nominated in four categories including the Best Feature Film. The Norwegian film ‘The Worst Person in the World’ is another one listed in the Best International Feature Film category to be streamed in MUBI. The movie which has also won the nomination for Best Original Screenplay will start streaming on the platform from May 13.

CODA, streaming on the Apple TV platform is the most rumoured film to win the Oscar in the category of Best Feature Film. The coming of age comedy-drama has first been screened at the Sundance Film Festival, has been brought by Apple for a festival record of $25 million. The film surrounding around the eponymous CODA, child of a deaf parent, has won accolades from critics across the globe.

The American streaming giant, Amazon Prime Video, has the film ‘Dune’ on its platform as the single entrant in its Oscar films in 2022. The film has won 10 nominations, just behind the film, The Power of the Dog, in the Oscar race. The film is a two-part adaptation of the novel by Frank Herbert.

Disney+Hotstar, the only Indian company featuring at least one Oscar-nominated film for the year is having the movie, ‘West Side Story’ in its library. The movie is directed by academy award director Stephen Spielberg and it is the second feature-length adaptation of the musical drama of the same name. It has been named one among the best ten films of 2021 by the Americal Film Institute.

However, Indians will miss some of the best feature films in the category like King Richard, starring Will Smith, Belfast, Nightmare Alley and Licorice Pizza.
