Sanju Samson suffered a knee injury in the first T20I against Sri Lanka.
Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson has been ruled out from the remainder of the T20I squad playing against Sri Lanka. The Kerala cricketer suffered a knee injury while attempting to field a ball near the boundary ropes during the 1st T20I at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The cricket governing body officially announced that he was taken for scans and a specialist opinion in Mumbai by the BCCI Medical Team and has been advised rest and rehabilitation. The selectors have named Jitesh Sharma as a replacement for Sanju Samson.
The injury might provide a chance for Rahul Tripathi to debut for India’s senior team.
