Film Director Omar Lulu has said that he had withdrawn his new film, ‘Nalla Samayam’ from theatres. The decision has come following an Excise case registered against the director and producer of the film for promoting synthetic drug usage through the film. The director informed through a Facebook post that further steps would be decided as per court direction.
Excise Kozhikode range has registered the case under Abkari and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPC) acts. They have found that the movie trailer has many scenes of using drugs and it has not shown any warnings against drug use. The dialogue in the trailer also promotes the usage of drugs.
The movie was released last Friday and it has a star casts of Irshad in lead and a long list of newcomers. The movie has got an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board.
