Gareth Bale, Wales football team captain and one of the best footballers of the generation retired from all forms of football. He announced his retirement through a Twitter statement and fans have taken it shockingly.
The retirement came within weeks after a successful final-round appearance of Wales in the football world cup after a long gap of 64 years. The 33-year-old footballer is currently playing for the Los Angeles FC. “After careful and thoughtful consideration, I announce my immediate retirement from the club and international football”, Bale wrote on Twitter.
Bale is arguably the finest ever footballer Wales produced and he is the top scorer for the country. He was his country’s engine as they reached the 2016 and 2020 European Championships before he led Wales to their first World Cup since 1958 at Qatar 2022. Bale ended his international career with 41 goals in 111 appearances. The Welshman won five Champions League titles and La Liga three times at Real Madrid and is considered one of the best forwards in La Liga.
