New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India ordered Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in the death of actor Sushant Sing Rajput. The family of the actor has moved the apex court to order a CBI inquiry to reveal the reasons behind the alleged suicide of the actor in his flat in Mumbai on June 14.

Apex court of India has also stated that the FIR registered by Bihar police in the case as per the complaint of the actor’s father was correct and the state is competent to request a CBI inquiry. The court directed the Mumbai police to hand over the evidence to the CBI team investigating the case. Mumbai Police and Bihar Police are conducting a probe in the death of the actor. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also probing the huge transactions made from the actor’s accounts allegedly by his girlfriend.

The police have quizzed some of the big names in Bollywood during the investigation. Actors like Kangana Ranaut blamed the nepotism in the industry led to the death of the actor. She pointed her fingers towards Yash Raj Films and Karan Johar in sabotaging the actor’s career.

The death of the actor has aroused a series of controversies and dragged many names to the purview of investigation. Sushant’s father K K Sing has raised serious allegation about the actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her family for cheating his son and mentally harassing him.

However, Rhea has denied all the allegations and went to Supreme Court to shift the case to Mumbai Police from Bihar Police. She had made the statement in the court that the Bihar Police is superseding the Mumbai police investigation to politicise the issue ahead of the Bihar state election. The court refuted her charges and accepted the argument of Bihar government that they have all the right to request a CBI probe.

The family of Sushant has also expressed their relief in the apex court decision. Shweta Singh Kirti, Sushant’s sister tweeted that “Thank you God! You have answered our prayers!! But it is just the beginning… the first step towards the truth! Full faith on CBI!!”
